Local children visit Oceanco: A Creative and Fun Filled Afternoon
Last Wednesday, Oceanco had the pleasure of welcoming nine local children – and what an energetic and heartwarming afternoon it turned out to be!
These bright young visitors were the lucky winners of the 2023 King’s Day Colouring Competition, an annual event organized for schoolchildren in Alblasserdam. As a local employer with over 3,000 people involved across the extended Oceanco ecosystem, community engagement like this is something we truly value.
The visit started with a guided tour, followed by a stop at Meeting Point 5 where the group watched the Oceanco brand video. It offered a first look into how our custom yachts—each over 80 meters—are brought to life right here in the Netherlands.
One of the most memorable moments was a high-energy trivia game, where kids raced around to find the coloured box matching their answers. The winner proudly took home a Connect 4 game as a prize!
Later, the children dove into their own creativity, sketching yacht designs using custom templates. Their ideas were nothing short of imaginative.
A big thank you to our Oceanco volunteers, the teachers who support these young learners, and most of all—the children themselves. Their curiosity, creativity, and infectious energy made this a truly memorable experience.
