Luxurious, powerful and technologically unparalleled, the 85.5m (281ft) teal blue-hulled SUNRAYS, (Y705), delivered in March 2010, is the product of Oceanco and Azure Naval Architects, the late designer Björn Johansson (exterior) and Terence Disdale (interior). The upper deck is given over to the owner’s suite and an adjacent VIP suite that can be combined to create one expansive living area. Both suites have fold-down sea balconies. The owner’s exterior foredeck hosts a whirlpool and sunbathing area. The remainder of the yacht’s accommodations for up to 16 guests is on the main deck with one VIP stateroom and four guest cabins.

Her large dining room can be converted into a videoconference room with the optional use of the adjacent library. Foldable sea balconies provide guests unimpeded views while dining. A second whirlpool is located on the aft bridge deck close to the gym.

Many spaces within may be opened or closed from each other, often using hidden sliding doors. The Captain of this yacht calls it “the most versatile interior I have seen – the ultimate guest and owner’s yacht.” SUNRAYS is indeed the ultimate statement Bjorn Johansson and the owner envisaged. Her striking topsides shimmer in the sun, and at night she floats ethereally over her 56 underwater lights.

DreAMBoat - 2019 1

Oceanco’s new 90-meter superyacht Y716 DreAMBoat was successfully launched on 13 February 2019. Oceanco’s 90-meter DreAMBoat (Y716) is a first-time design collaboration between Espen Øino International and Terence Disdale Design.  At 2950GT, the volume allows for luxurious accommodation for up to 23 guests and a well thought- out crew’s quarters for a maximum of 33 crew members.

The generous overhangs from the superstructure and cut outs in the bulwarks lend a classic and strong appearance. The overall effect, is a yacht with clean uncluttered lines and a coherent design. The design emphasis is on large windows that flood the interior with daylight and offer unspoiled views from the inside out. Outside spaces feature a large swimming pool on the main aft deck, an enormous partially enclosed sundeck with Jacuzzi and copious options for seating/ entertaining. There is also a private Jacuzzi on the Owner’s deck. The interior design is sophisticated and serene with Disdale’s inimitable attention to detail. Nearly everything onboard from furniture to lighting is custom made.

Terence Disdale, has created an interior that  incorporates bespoke surfaces, natural wood, limestone floors, semi-precious stone vanities, parchment, leather and mother of pearl. The effect is chic without being overdone..

State- of- the- art technology prevails from all aspects. For instance, this yacht includes a complex IP ship’s computer operating system as well as full carbon canopy mast house and mast which forms an integral part of the overall design.

Black Pearl - 2018 1
Black Pearl - 2018 2

The three-masted sailing yacht Black Pearl is unlike any yacht the world has ever seen. This unique and complex vessel is the realization of a discerning Owner’s vision. She is the result of an elaborate and successful collaboration on the part of an international group of designers, engineers, naval architects, builders, and project managers. The designers Ken Freivokh Design, Nuvolari Lenard and Villate Design all played a significant role in Black Pearl’s design evolution. Dykstra Naval Architects designed Black Pearl’s three 70 meter (230ft) DynaRig carbon masts and sailing system. The sail area is subdivided into smaller lesser-loaded sails and they can be set or furled by pushing a button. Astonishingly, all 2,900 square meter of sails can be set in 7 minutes.BMT, Nigel Gee collaborated with Oceanco to create Black Pearl’s hybrid propulsion system as well as other onboard systems such as waste heat recovery.
