The name Double Luck – or 八八, meaning “88” in Mandarin Chinese – is a nod to the auspiciousness of eight in Chinese numerology. This supersailer is developed with an ultra-efficient design incorporating a high-performance Dykstra DynaRig sailing system alongside Oceanco’s pioneering power regeneration system.
The yacht’s exterior design centers around a bow with a slight reverse, a smooth sheer line and long, curving lines with minimal sharp edges. Lobanov Design borrowed elements of classic car design to give Double Luck her distinctive profile, with the superstructure styled as a cockpit.
Lobanov Design crafted a relaxing ambience across the three-deck exterior, including a large aft deck swimming pool, fold-down beach club sea terraces and a two-deck Zen winter garden. Continuing the theme, the yacht’s interior is Zen-inspired; soft shapes, flowing lines and organic materials feature throughout, with a strong focus on merging indoor and outdoor spaces, and bringing natural light into the interior.
Double Luck’s advanced DynaRig system operation allows the sails on its two vast masts to be set by a single crewmember in just six minutes.
