The spectacular new 88.5m (290.35ft) Nirvana, built under the code name Y707, is the largest yacht of its generation delivered by Oceanco to date. Nirvana is a stellar achievement by her Owner, Oceanco and Sam Sorgiovanni who was responsible for the exterior styling and interior design. Built to the standards of quality workmanship and technology that Oceanco is renowned for, she spent her 2012 summer season in the Med and made her debut at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show (19-22 September 2012) where she was the largest yacht on display. Her hull sports a distinctive slightly flared bow and swooping curve that begins aft of amidships. She is bound to be recognizable in any port, in part, due to Sorgiovanni’s signature bright work on the transom and the strip of a varnished mahogany look that outlines the cap rail and extends the length of the boat. This nostalgic classic gesture provides a contrast to the modernity and whimsy one finds in the interior design of the boat.
On the main deck are the guest accommodations for ten or twelve which include a VIP suite with a lounge that is convertible into a twin cabin plus a commodious his & hers bathroom, as well as four Queen-size VIP cabins.
On the main aft deck, Nirvana features an immense oval-shaped 7.5m pool with a depth of 1.4m—it is one of the largest pool currently installed on any Oceanco yacht. This fresh–and- seawater pool with height-adjustable floor is the very first one that Oceanco has made out of glass reinforced plastic (GRP). A variable jet stream permits swimmers to swim laps in place. All interior and exterior spaces are designed with utmost luxury in mind.
It is also a big yacht capable of crossing the wide oceans of the world. The twin 4000 series MTU main engines can push her along at a maximum speed of 20 knots, while 14 knots is a gentle cruise that gives a range of well over 5,000 nautical miles. With large tanks and plenty of storage capacity, Nirvana has everything needed for lengthy expeditions, and the build quality and standard of equipment could not be better.
